Northern Michigan University needed a better way to handle their basketball schedule. The current plan was to changeover the hockey arena into a basketball court. This was not only extremely labor intensive, but the arena size created a disconnect between the spectators and the student athletes.

NMU instead chose to convert Vandament Arena. Formerly used solely for volleyball, the arena was successfully converted for basketball as well. A big concern was aesthetics; it had to look like a collegiate arena. POLARIS Multi-Purpose Seating with ComfoBack Backrests on our Premier Platform create an elevated experience for the spectators.

Victory Series bleachers behind each basket, complete with EXCEL Seat Modules, allow students to enjoy the game, as well as be comfortable.

Seating roughly 1,400 spectators, this smaller arena allows the student athletes to feel the energy of the crowd as they’re cheering on their favorite team! Plus, set up can be easily handled by just the facility manager with a push of a button.
